Manchester United have made a great start to the Premier League campaign, after a 3-1 win away to Bournemouth.
In an evenly contested first half it took a clumsy error from Bournemouth skipper Simon Francis to gift the visitors a fortuitous opening goal fives minutes before half-time.
Ander Herrera played a hopeful lofted ball, which didn’t appear to present any danger to the Cherries’ defence, but Francis’ weak back pass put Artur Boruc under unnecessary pressure and Juan Mata capitalised to stroke the ball home into an empty net.
The second half began in a frenzy and on 59 minutes Wayne Rooney gave the Red Devils a two-goal with a clever header after Anthony Martial’s misdirected shot.
Only five minutes later and Zlatan Ibrahimović scored his first Premier League goal with a sumptuous long-range strike from 25 yards.
However, a clean sheet would escape United when Adam Smith cut in from the right-hand side and scored a powerful left-footed effort from just inside the box.

Once again @BlindDaley showing everyone why he was the most important signing of LVG’s era. Pure class. We can’t let him go #MUFC

Herrera very tidy today. No reason to suggest he can’t be the one to pair with Pogba. Defensively very well organised too. #MUFC

Bailly has the same presence on the pitch as Vidic did. Going to be some player for us. #MUFC

Well, a clean sheet would have been good, but I think we can label this one ‘encouraging’. #MUFC

Confident, organised, ruthless. Bit of old-school swagger, too. Positive signs from #MUFC. Could be a memorable season.

My word, talk about strength in depth. Look at the players who’ve come on, are on the bench and are suspended/injured. The 🔮 is 🔆 #MUFC

Since the start of last season, Ibrahimovic has scored more goals (7) from outside the area than any player in Europe’s top 5 leagues. #MUFC
