The round of 32 fixtures for the 2016 FFA Cup were officially announced today.

The third instalment of Australian football’s showcase knockout competition commences on the 26th of July, with 32 teams from both A-League and NPL level facing-off for the chance to lift silverware.

Last season’s champions Melbourne Victory begin their defence of the cup by travelling to Hunter Stadium to face the Newcastle Jets, who take to the field under the new ownership of Martin Lee.

2015-16 A-League champions Adelaide United start with a visit to Queensland for an encounter with Redlands United.

The initial round is also highlighted by an A-League showdown between two time tournament runners-up Perth Glory and the Brisbane Roar, while Wollongong host Sydney FC and 2015 NPL Champions Blacktown City FC take on Sydney United 58 in a tantalising pair of New South Wales derbies.
