It is do-or-die time for Roy Hodgson’s men as they take on Iceland in the Round of 16 at the Stade de Nice early tomorrow morning.

The tiny Nordic nation will want to continue their French fairtytale, while the Three Lions are looking to shake-off decades of footballing misery on the international stage. Ahead of the clash, the gang at oulala.com have taken an in-depth look at 13 key areas from both England’s and Iceland’s Euro 2016 campaigns so far – to see who stacks up as the favourite to progress into the final eight.

Based on the statistics, it certainly looks to be another uphill battle for Strákarnir okkar. Of their three games played so far, both teams have the same record of one win and two draws, with Iceland scoring one more goal in those outings and the English conceding one less.

In attack Hodgson’s squad have been far more on the front-foot though, with the Icelanders having had to sit deep in their matches – completing over 800 more passes, creating three times as many chances and recording double the shots on goal.

Lagerback and Hallgrimsson’s side leads in terms of shot accuracy, interceptions and tackling success, however, will need to be ready to face another 90 minutes of pressure against England’s talented lineup.
