Hull City have confirmed a loan deal has been struck with Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv to secure the services of striker Dieumerci Mbokani.

If Mbokani is able to impress this season he may earn himself a permanent move to the club next season, with the Tigers having an option to buy the player at the end of the loan deal.

Mbokani adds Premier League experience to the Hull line-up, still slim on senior players due to an extensive injury list.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at relegated Norwich City, drawing praise for his performances as he scored seven goals in 15 appearances.

The former DR Congo forward only retired from international football last year, finishing his international career with 16 goals in 35 appearances.

Hull got their business done late completing all five of their signings in the final two days of the transfer window with Mbokani being the last of those.

He was the second of the day however as the club announced the signing of young midfielder James Weir from Manchester United.
