Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says the sky is the limit for his side as they prepare to travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge in the club’s first European tie since 2000.

The Foxes are in Group G alongside the Belgians, FC Copenhagen and FC Porto and confident of making the knockout stages.

Despite limited expectations of the Premier League champions, Ranieri has the faith in his side to once again prove the doubters wrong.

“It’s important to play in Europe beyond December. that’s our goal. We want to be in the knockout stage,” the Italian manager told reporters.

“Winning the Champions League is impossible. But Leicester have shown before that the impossible is possible.

Ranieri will be hoping his side can rediscover their form of last season, and take advantage of a Brugge side who has lost three of their first six games.

“Brugge are a good team, the best in Belgium. They are used to playing in Europe. They have experience and that means something,” he added.

The hosts manager, Michel Preud’homme, believes his players will be right up for the challenge despite poor domestic form.

“What Leicester did last season is a great story, and they proved one thing –- with the right mindset, you can go a long way,” he said.

“We want to get back in the form we were in when we won the title last season.”
