Brisbane Roar confirm Ticketek membership error

Brisbane Roar have confirmed a Ticketek error as the reason behind why some fans were left confused by their new membership purchases not being linked to the club.

Some Roar fans took to social media earlier today in a quizzical fashion with their membership packages charged to ‘ARU’ and not the club.

The club has now confirmed to Outside90 that it was simply an issue with Ticketek, whom the club uses as the facilitator for their membership system. All payments have been confirmed to be going straight to the club, and not to any other party.

The club has signed up 1,018 members since they went on sale last Wednesday.

Social media had hypothesised whether ARU stood for ‘Australian Rugby Union’, which could have be explained by the Roar having until today to pay the QRU (Queensland Rugby Union) $300,000 to shift their training base to Ballymore.

The club has since brokered a deal with the QRU and will on Monday begin training at Ballymore.
