Australian duo Brad Smith and Adam Federici tasted success in the League Cup second round after a 2-1 win away to Morecambe.
Smith, 22, who completed a £3 move from Liverpool made his debut for the club in his preferred left-back position and play the full 90 minutes, while Federici replaced Artur Boruc in goal.
Bournemouth winger Max Gradel gave the Cherries the lead with a low-footed drive on eight minutes, only for the League Two side to hit back through Cole Stockton just six minutes later.

However, former Stoke City defender Marc Wilson scored a sublime goal from 25 yards – his first goal since Boxing Day, 2010 against Bolton in the top-flight – to help Bournemouth advance.
If Smith and Federici are selected for their third round clash against Preston North End they could face fellow Socceroos teammate and centre-back Bailey Wright.
