Strong rearguard action from 10-man Juventus ensured that they remain undefeated and in prime position to qualify from Group D, after a 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach overnight.
Monchengladbach opened the scoring through Fabian Johnson after an error in judgement from Giorgio Chiellini, before Paul Pogba’s sublime pass allowed Stephan Lichtsteiner to equalise on the stroke of halftime.
Hernanes attempted to allow Gladbach a path to victory when he was sent-off for a stupid attempted tackle in the 52nd minute, however, Juventus held firm at the back and a number of smart Gianluigi Buffon saves at the death helped to preserve the Italian giant’s undefeated status.
The result leaves the Bianconeri on eight points in second spot with two games remaining, while Andre Schubert’s side remain at the foot of the table with just two points. Here is how Outside90’s David Jordan saw the performances of those at Borussia-Park this morning.
