It is time to take another look around the globe as many European-based Socceroos get ready for the 2015-16 run home.

Each player will have different motivation, but with the upcoming draw for the next phase of World Cup qualifiers happening tonight, they will all be wanting to pull on the green and gold later this year.

Alex Gersbach – Rosenborg

After missing out on last week’s match the young fullback was involved in the side’s 1-0 victory over Aalesund, substituted on in the final 10 minutes for goal scorer Tore Reginiussen to help close out the game. Rosenborg are off to a good start in the Norwegian League season, sitting on top of the table after four games.

Mustafa Amini – Randers

Seemingly an established presence in the Randers setup, Amini made his 15th start of the season as his team battled to a 1-1 draw with the table topping Kobenhaven. He was substituted after the side took the lead in the 72nd minute, however, they conceded the equaliser soon after. At least Amini can say he was not on the pitch for the equaliser and when he left they were in the lead.

Scott McDonald – Motherwell & Tom Rogic – Celtic

The veteran McDonald keeps scoring in the Scottish Premier League, adding another goal to his tally on the hour-mark to equalise against league leaders Celtic. He was in the right place as the defenders were drawn towards the run down to the byline, before the ball was squared to the striker for an easy far post finish. He could have had another just beforehand tapping-in from close range, however, he was ruled offside.

Rogic entered the fray later on and was on the field for the eventual winner, which Motherwell’s goalkeeper will regret as a fairly tame shot went through his legs.

Mile Jedinak – Crystal Palace

The Socceroos captain helped his Eagles side out as they look to secure their top-flight status for another season. Jedinak started alongside Yohan Cabaye and played the full game, even managing to pick up a yellow card for good measure on the 70-minute mark. A vital 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Norwich City put the gap between the two sides at six points with Palace having a game in hand. His status for next season remains uncertain, however, he is showing he can still cut it in Europe’s most competitive league.

James Meredith – Bradford City

Meredith’s Bradford City continue their push for promotion with a 1-0 win over Massimo Luongo’s former side Swindon Town. A 20th minute goal was enough to get by their League One rivals and keep them in third spot on the table. With five games to play they are in the top playoff spot and six points off the automatic place in the Championship. It will not be easy as they have Millwall, Gillingham and Walsall close behind, with the latter two having games in hand which would allow them to overtake Bradford. For the time being it looks like they will at least have a chance to play up a division next year.
