Believe it or not, there are other stories going on in the football world outside of Leicester sealing the Premier League title with this morning’s draw between Chelsea and Tottenham.

Several Socceroos have been in action around the globe for their respective club sides, as they chase various late season honours or new contracts.

Chris Herd – Chesterfield

The defender has been announced as a new signing for Perth Glory for the upcoming A-League season, readying to depart the English team he has been with for 2015-16. He has made 23 appearances for the League One outfit this season, having moved from Aston Villa on a free transfer in September. Herd will be a valuable asset for Perth Glory, with the Western Australian club possessing a recent record of top-quality recruitment.

Mustafa Amini – Randers

Amini played a full game for his side as they stole a 2-2 draw away to FC Nordsjaelland. Down 2-1 with time expiring, Randers crafted an equaliser to keep them ahead of their opponents on the Danish table. Amini’s move to Denmark from Dortmund has yielded a positive return so far, now seeing regular first team football. While the league itself is not quite at Bundesliga standards, Amini is getting to play week in and week out and further develop his skills. Randers are sitting comfortably in seventh with six games remaining.

Brad Smith – Liverpool

Part of an understrength squad that travelled to Swansea, the left-back was sent-off for a second yellow card as his side went down 3-1 and the Welsh club secured Premier League safety for this season. With an obvious focus on the Europa League clash later this week, Smith saw his marching orders in the 76th minute after stopping a Swansea counter-attack. For Liverpool their top six ambitions took a severe battering but elsewhere in the country, Leicester City are the top-flight champions!

Mark Schwarzer – Leicester City

The 43-year-old claimed his second consecutive league title, having also earned a medal at Chelsea last season. Ironically though, he receives these titles through a combination of hard work, sitting on the bench and occasionally going to warm up with the rest of the substitutes. He played no Premier League minutes at all this season. despite being on the bench for 35 of their 36 games. The Socceroos icon did make three Capitol One Cup appearances earlier this year, with two of those games going to extra time, but all that will matter to him right now is that he, along with his teammates, have won the Premier League.
