Chelsea’s 2015-16 season comes to a critical juncture at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow morning.

Coming back with an away goal from a 2-1 defeat back in February, a 1-0 scoreline at home would be enough for the stuttering English champions to progress, although the task of keeping a clean sheet will be much harder without figurehead John Terry.

The Blue icon has been on the sidelines since picking up a hamstring injury in a 5-1 defeat of Newcastle a month ago.

After Terry was ruled out of tomorrow morning’s clash with PSG, the gang at www.oulala.com have taken a look at how Chelsea have fared with and without their captain this season.

Based on the statistics, the blue faithful should look at the necessary change to their regimental back four in a positive light, performing better this season in all key areas when the 35-year-old is not on the pitch.

On average in 2015-16 Chelsea have won five percent more games, taken more points and conceded less goals without Terry on the field, while defensive partners Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill record more successful tackles, aerial duels and interceptions.

With the defeat at the Parc des Princes the only negative mark on Guus Hiddink’s return as manager, the Blues will fancy their chances at home – but despite the statistics, will they miss Terry’s leadership in such a vital match?
