Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri fronted the media ahead of his sides clash with Tottenham Hotspur tonight at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Bianconeri played out a 1-1 draw last Saturday night in their ICC opener against Melbourne Victory. After going ahead 1-0 through a Carlos Blanco wonder-goal from near the halfway line, winger Jai Ingham later equalised for Kevin Muscat’s side with minutes to spare, as the hosts went on to win 4-3 in a penalty shootout.

Allegri gave fans some optimistic news, saying audiences can expect an improved performance and promising his players will lift their intensity against the Spurs. Also adding intrigue to the match-up, the 48-year-old declared that new signings Medhi Benatia and Miralem Pjanic are set to make their first appearance in Juventus colours.

The pair both missed the previous match against Melbourne with fatigue.

“Tomorrow they will all play, Benatia, Pereyra and Pjanic. We will probably play with four defenders, at right back maybe a young player or Alex Sandro,” Allegri said

“We will use tomorrow as an important test for conditioning and practice.”

The coach remained coy on the status of French superstar Paul Pogba though, who has been linked with a record return to former club Manchester United, declaring he has full confidence in his staff dealing within the transfer market.

“I’m not going to talk about transfer market news. I’m here to talk about tomorrow’s clash against Tottenham. Those who deal with the transfers at Juventus are doing a great job.”

Following tomorrow’s nights match against Tottenham, the Bianconeri depart Melbourne for the second-leg of their Asia/Pacific tourm where they will travel to Hong Kong to face South China on July 30th.
