Leicester City midfielder Marc Albrighton has become the latest player to commit his future to the club this summer.

Albrighton’s new deal will see him through until the end of the 2019/20 season, as he has become an integral part of Claudio Ranieri’s team.

The 26-year-old joins Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Andy King, Danny Drinkwater, Kasper Schmeichel, Ben Chilwell and Ranieri in extending their contracts with the club over the past few months.

Leicester snapped the winger up on a free transfer following his release from Aston Villa at the end of the 2014 season when his contract expired.

“The club has been great to me since I signed, I’ve had some amazing times here and we’ve reached the ultimate by winning the league last year,” Albrighton told lcfc.com.

“I just think there’s a really good feeling around the place. Everyone seems to want to stay at the Club and I think that’s a massive credit to how far the Club has come in the last few years. It’s exciting times for Leicester City Football Club and I want to be a part of that.”

He played a key role in helping the Foxes claim a maiden Premier League title last season, featuring in all 38 matches and scoring two goals.
