Adelaide United staked their claim for 2015-16 A-League glory after a 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory last night.

A back-and-forth contest saw the two original rivals battle all over the pitch, with the three points hanging in the balance during numerous nail-biting  moments.

The solitary goal came in the 90th minute when substitute Bruce Kamau was found inside the box, firing a half-volley that deflected off Scott Galloway and past Danny Vukovic.

Guilllermo Amor’s side are now just two points away from first place and continue an A-League undefeated streak that stretches to 12-games, however, a nasty injury to standout performer Craig Goodwin was a reminder of the war that this fixture always presents.
