Adama Traoré has signed for Middlesbrough on a four-year deal, leaving Aston Villa after just one season.

The Spanish winger joins Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee, becoming the clubs 11th senior signing of the transfer window.

Traoré played only 10 matches for Aston Villa last season, with injuries reducing his playing time.

The 20-year-old was signed by the Lions for £7 million in August 2015, having previously spent his career at Barcelona, appearing on four occasions for the senior squad.

The former Spanish youth international leaves Aston Villa at a time where the club sits 16th in the Championship, with the side winning only one match in their opening five fixtures.

Middlesbrough have fared a little better, currently sitting 6th in the Premier League with five points, having to yet lose a league match this season.

Traoré will not be the only former Barcelona player at Middlesbrough, with goalkeeper Victor Valdes also becoming a part of the squad this season.
