Huddersfield Town are top of the Championship table after a 1-0 victory at home against Wolverhampton last night.

Rajiv van La Parra scored his first goal for the club after just six minutes of play, following up a shot which struck the post from Nakhi Wells.

Once again Australian Aaron Mooy played a pivotal role for the Terriers, who have made their best start to a season in 64 years.

Mooy completed more passes (77) than the entire Wolves midfield (76) in a Man of the Match display typified by his control of the ball and passing range, beginning the move which resulted in van La Parra’s winner.

The 25-year-old was also successful with every attempted tackle and created two shots for teammates, further cementing his status as a crucial link in the middle of the pitch.

Socceroos fans will be delighted with Mooy’s consistent form overseas before Australia’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and United Arab Emirates.

Huddersfield are undefeated in the league ahead of the international break, with a clash against Leeds United next on September 10.
