XBOX AVPL Team of the Week – Mandingos CF striker headlines XI

Here’s a close look at the best individual displays on Xbox after another thrilling instalment of the AVPL.

GK – Michu1 (La Masia CF)

Another strong week from La Masia CF’s number one as Michu continued to press his claims for a national team spot. In just four matches, he made 15 saves and kept three clean sheets, proving why he is considered one of the best keepers on Xbox. He saved his best for HereForBeer FC, with the heavyweights playing off in a thriller, as Michu put in a Man of the Match display.

CB – Karnagee (Mandingos CF)

Boasting one of the best profile pictures on AUSFIFA, Karnagee put in a fantastic shift for Mandingos in week two of the AVPL as his side claimed top spot on the table. In just his second season in the AVPL, Kanagee has built a reputation of being a concrete wall in defence. This week was no different, keeping three clean sheets and making ten tackles as his side gained six wins from six.

CB – Marco (La Masia CF)

When Xbox players think of who the best defenders are in the AVPL, Marco comes to mind every time. The La Masia defender was at his absolute best in week two of the AVPL, repelling everything that came his way as his side continued their brilliant run of form. He made nine tackles and kept four clean sheets in five matches, playing pivotal roles in both matches against HereForBeer FC.

CB – Heis (HereForBeer FC)

The HereForBeer FC defender has kicked off his season in style, earning his place in the team of the week for the second time already this season. After not making a tackle last week, Heis suddenly turned into a tackling machine, averaging three a game on his way to 15 for the week. He was at his best against Faceless Men FC, keeping a clean sheet and making four tackles in a 1-0 win.

LM – DmAuViIrD (Vendetta CF)

Dave enjoyed a productive week for his club Vendetta CF with the midfielder making an impressive 18 tackles in his six matches. Playing a lockdown role, Dave still managed to assist twice to play a pivotal role in the middle of the park in week two. Expect much of the same in the coming weeks.

CM – ValidusOrcinus (HereForBeer FC)

Despite having one of the most confusing names on AUSFIFA, Validus showed his true ability in week two of the AVPL with an all-rounded midfield performance. The engine in the middle of the park, Validus not only helped out going forward, scoring twice and assisting once, but he also helped defensively, making a huge 22 tackles in the six matches he played.

CM – Ow_Nonu_Bro (Faceless Men FC)

A controversial figure in the midfield, the New Zealand international recently turned heads by transitioning onto the PS4. However, the controversy hasn’t deterred his performances in the AVPL with a strong week for Faceless Men FC. The midfielder banged in two goals while also assisting two in a promising week for his side.

RM – Harry10 (La Fabrica CF)

The attacking midfielder showed everyone that his position in last weeks’ Team of the Week was no fluke as the La Fabrica product continues to impress. The striker-turned-midfielder scored three goals in week two, showing just how capable he is of finding the net, despite his position on the pitch. He also added three assists in what was a complete midfielders display.

AUSFIFA Medium Rectangle

LF – NeymarSnr (La Masia CF)

Following his incredible exploits in week one, Neymar finds a spot in the team of the week for the second time already this season after an amazing week with La Masia CF. The fan favourite scored four goals in six matches while also adding three assists to sit outright fifth in the Golden Ball leaderboard. The Australian international is doing his chances for another national team call-up no harm.

RF – RAMBOtheRIDDIK (Vendetta CF)

Once again, another player who controversially moved over to the PS4, Rambo cemented his position up front with an impressive week for Vendetta CF. The striker scored five goals in six games to take his season tally to six as his side staked their claim as legitimate title contenders. He also added two assists in a top week for the forward.

ST – guffa2015 (Mandingos CF)

Who else really? Guffa put in a week to remember as the Mandingos striker was central to his teams’ incredible performances in week two. The Western Australian scored an astonishing eight goals in just six games in week two, taking his season tally to ten and sitting outright top of the Golden Boot. Not only this, but he currently sits second on the Dishmaster leaderboard with five to his name, having added three this week.

Performance of the Week – xLothiann (La Masia CF), Round 3

Despite missing out on a selection into the team of the week, Lothian grabs his second consecutive performance of the week with a huge game for La Masia in round 3. The striker was at his astonishing best, scoring three and assisting four as La Masia ran out comfortable winners in both matches against the lowly NO TENSION FC.
