The top-two for Group D is almost set before the final group fixtures kick-off, as Spain and Croatia lead the way heading into Wednesday morning’s games.

The current leaders in the group prepare to go head-to-head, in a match which could determine the outcome of the group, with the Czech Republic and Turkey encounter very much to find out who will take third spot.

So what needs to happen for these teams to qualify?

Spain

The reigning champions were among the first teams to qualify for the knockout stages following their 3-0 defeat of Turkey. A single point against Croatia will see them finish on top of the group.

Croatia

A single point in the game against the group leaders will be enough to see them claim second spot behind the Spaniards. They will finish third if they lose and Czech Republic win beating them on the following tie-breaker – goal difference, goals scored, fair play and drawing of lots.

Czech Republic

Results very much need to go the way of the Czech Republic if they are to qualify for the round of 16. They must beat Turkey and hope Croatia lose to Spain, before second spot being decided on the tiebreaker noted above. A single point may be enough to see them qualify as one of the better third placed teams.

Turkey

It will be difficult for the Turkish to reach the knockout stages, despite the fact they can finish third with a victory over the Czech Republic. A win would leave them on three points, but they have let themselves down with a goal difference of -4 thus far.
