The gang had the pleasure of speaking to Western Sydney Wanderers captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley on the Daily Football Show, ahead of the season kick-off tomorrow night. 

After Western Sydney’s poor league campaign last season, with just four victories for the entire season the club’s skipper is genuinely confident that the team can challenge for top honours domestically.

Tony Popovic is entering his third season at the helm and expectation is rife at Wanderland, after last season’s disappointing follow-up from their Asian Champions League triumph .

The 30-year-old, in his second year as skipper, believes Popovic and his coaching staff have recruited smartly in the off-season which will hold the Wanderers in good stead for the campaign.

Former Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory midfielder Mitch Nichols is a real coup for the club, according to the club captain after his move in the off-season.

The Wanderers open season 2015-16 of the A-League tomorrow night against the Brisbane Roar at Pirtek Stadium.
