When news broke that the FFA was toying with the idea of discontinuing Wellington Phoenix and installing another A-League club elsewhere, plenty of Australian football fans were left scratching their heads.

The Nix are New Zealand’s only professional football club having replaced the ill-fated New Zealand Knights in the A-League back in 2008.

New Zealand without the Phoenix could be calamitous for the world game. The black and yellows, as well as the national team, the All Whites, are the heartbeat of football in a rugby-dominated nation.

In wake of the news, the A-League community banded together in a show of solidarity with the Phoenix, supporting the #SaveTheNix campaign.

Copa90 delved deep into the saga and report live from Wellington to tell the story of the fledgling club as well as its dedicated supporter group, the Yellow Fever.
