Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the signing of Australian international goalkeeper Casey Dumont.

The 24-year-old joins the Red & Black after successful stints at Sydney FC and Brisbane where she picked up two W-League championships, as well as one premiership.

The signing represents a coup for the Wanderers who are aiming to reach the W-League finals for the first time in their four-year history.

Dumont, who spent last season in recovery after rupturing her ACL on international duty for the Matildas against New Zealand in 2015, had been training with the club in a bid to regain her fitness.

“I trained with the Wanderers’ boys before the Olympics and they got me so fit. I wasn’t even a player at the club but they made me so welcome and they really helped my training so I’m looking forward to that aspect: it’s going to build me as a better player”, said Dumont.

As one of the competitions most successful players, Dumont is looking for success right away under new manager Richard Byrne.

“The goal straight up is finals. There is no doubt in my mind that I’m going to help the team out as much as possible to get the Wanderers their first finals appearance and make it all the way.”

“The squad is going to be of high standard, everyone is going to challenge each other and the coaches are not going to lower their standards: they know what they want and that is performance.”
