Roma earned a point against the reigning Champions League holders thanks to a stunning equaliser from makeshift right-back Alessandro Florenzi.
Barca had taken the lead in the first half through Luis Suarez’s close-range header, after lax Roma defending allowed Ivan Rakitic acres of space inside to supply a cross to the striker.
But the night belonged to Florenzi, who is best known as a winger, as he scored what is likely to be the goal of the season. Picking up the ball in his own half, he pushed on down the right-wing and smashed a stunning strike in off the far post from all of 60 yards to earn his side a share of the points.
