Another transfer window brings more suspense for Gunners fans, who see a squad that needs to be strengthened ahead of a shark-filled 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

As two players constantly linked with moves to Arsenal, the gang at oulala.com have looked at Gonzalo Higuian and Julian Draxler’s performances for Napoli and Wolfsburg in their respective competitions last season – to reveal why Arsene Wenger cannot afford to allow two more players to slip though his fingers.

The Serie A spolight was firmly focused on Argentine hitman Higuain for most of the 2015-16 campaign, where Partenopei came so close to dethroning league giants Juventus. Nonetheless, the striker cruised his way to a first Capocannoniere with an amazing 36 goals in 35 appearances, taking over five shots per game at 58% accuracy. The 28-year-old also registered an average of 20 successful passes each time he took to the field.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg’s Draxler would provide Wenger with a young upstart who could reach his full potential at the Emirates. A breakout season saw the 22-year-old net five goals and provide five assists over 21 showings – continuously breaking down the opposition backlines 27 successful passes and nearly three key passes per game, also ending the campaign with a 71% take-on success rate. This form saw Draxler picked for the Germany Euro 2016 squad, where he was particularly impressive among a relatively deflated attacking force.
