Ahead of Thursday night’s World Cup Qualifier against Kyrgyzstan, the Socceroos have taken to GIO Stadium in Canberra for a light training session.

Only half the squad is currently in camp, with a few latecomers from Europe still to jet in tomorrow.

Matthew Spiranovic is a late withdrawal from the squad after suffering a calf injury, with Postecoglou opting not to call up a replacement for the Chinese-based defender.

Meanwhile, after Tom Rogic’s recent good form at club level for Celtic, Tim Cahill has urged the Australian media to “give him space.”

“This is a great story because Tommy is a player I’ve known for a long time and someone I admire a lot,” Cahill said.

“I just feel now he needs his time to play. Everyone knows he can shine but for him he just needs space.

“Naturally Tommy will thrive and he’ll be one of our top players because of his ability and he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in Celtic.”

The Socceroos lead Kyrgyzstan by just a single point in the group after a loss to Jordan in the last World Cup Qualifier.
