The fortress in Torino

Ever since its unvailing in 2011, the Juventus Stadium cemented itself in the hearts of fans, ex-players and the current crop of players themselves. The stadium has seen a large amount of success since its inception and although there have been minor hiccups along the way, the fans have spoken in numbers by having the largest average attendence than any other side in Serie A.

The fortress has now taken a new chapter, with the Bianconeri equalling the Serie A record of not conceding a goal in nine consecutive matches after their win against Atalanta in Bergamo. This has also edged Gianluigi Buffon closer to surpassing Dino Zoff and Sebastiano Rossi’s minutes without conceding records, the 38-year-old now only 93 minutes away. The task will be a lot tougher as Juventus face Sassuolo this coming Friday who were last scoreless at the beginning of February.

Napoli strike early

I Partenopei have been searching for success ever since the departure of their hero Diego Maradona in 1991 and unfortunately have not come across it as of yet. Second to Juventus at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season is the closest the club has come to success, however the current season has given them an immense amount of hope.

Reaching the summit of the league for the first time since 1990 has ensured a close run to the finish. One way Napoli have made their presence felt this season is scoring a number of goals early in matches, so that the opposition’s game plan is almost abandoned. The win over Chievo was the ninth occasion the club has scored more than two goals in the opening half, a record in the Serie A and largely due to the purple patch their Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is experiencing.
