Following his Man of the Match performance, Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak has drawn praise from Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Slovenian international produced two stunning saves in as many minutes for the Spanish outfit, keeping the Spurs out and allowing his side to win 1-0 in the third and final game of the Melbourne leg of the International Champions Cup.

Pochettino was glowing in his endorsement of the 23-year-old, but also complimented his youngsters who held their own against the Champions League finalists.

“It was a very good game and a great experience for us. I am very happy with the team,” he said.

“Their GK was man of the match which says a lot. We finished the game with 9 players who have come through the academy – great.”

“It was a fantastic performance and a great experience for us. I am very happy with this young team.”

“The fans here have been fantastic. Their passion has been brilliant. Thank you to them!”

The likes of DeAndre Yedlin (23) and Cameron Carter-Vickers (18) were particularly singled Pochettino, with the two American imports performing admirably in defence.
