Real Madrid have overcome a defiant Celta Vigo 3-1 at the Balaidos Stadium on Saturday night.
The visitors were keen to move past their 0-0 draw against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League and did exactly that.
It took Los Galacticos only eight minutes to open the scoring through Portuguese wiz Cristiano Ronaldo. His shot was accurately deflected into the goal off Sergio Alvarez.
Celta Vigo accumulated some excellent chances yet were unable to consolidate due to the excellent goalkeeping of Costa Rican Keylor Navas.
Danilo doubled Los Galacticos’ lead midway through the first term as he found himself in space and could easily convert a Jese pass.
Despite the 2-0 scoreline, the hosts were forcing Navas to make some sublime saves.
Indeed their sole goal came five minutes before the final whistle as Nolito unleashed a magnificent strike which dipped into the top left corner.
Of course Real had one last trick up their sleeve with Brazilian Marcelo easily scoring at the near post to secure the victory for the Madridistas.
