Outside90’s Joshua Scarcella casts an eye over the five best individual performances to come from Matchday 7 of the Serie A.

Gervinho (Roma vs Palermo)

The Ivorian is making a habit of featuring in our top five performers list, this being the second week in a row. Gervinho is capitalising on a centre-forward role while Edin Dzeko is out due to a knee injury and unfortunately for Dzeko, Gervinho is thriving in the role. This is demonstrated by two man of the match performances in three games and scoring in all three games.

His first half goal came from a fantastic solo run into the area. The ex-Gunner danced around three defenders and finished into the top corner, a marvel to watch. His second sealed a shaky second half performance from Roma. Salih Ucan provided the assist as Gervinho bamboozled a defender once again and slotted the ball into the back of the net.
