Bayern Munich and Germany attacker Thomas Muller says that he and his team mates cannot expect an easy three points when they host Russian club FC Rostov on Tuesday evening.

The meeting will be the first time the pair have come together

Muller believes Bayern are set to be in for a physical clash against the Russian side.

“Rostov will defend very compactly and be physical,” the 26-year-old said.

“We are professional enough to know there are no easy games and it will be tough.”

Having qualified through a play-off, the underdogs will be hoping to bring their defensive resolve against Europe’s elite, having conceded only 20 goals in 30 Russian Premier League games last season.

Bayern Munich shot-stopper Manuel Neuer was also full of praise for the visitors who prepare to embark on their maiden Champions League campaign.

“They beat Ajax 4-1 to qualify, so they must be good,” Neuer said.

“We want to win the Champions League – that’s always our goal. But we know we aren’t the only ones who want that.”

The two clubs are joined in Group D with Spanish side Atletico Madrid and Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
