Melbourne City have announced the signing of 30-year-old Dane Michael Jakobsen on Thursday.
Predominantly a centre-back, Jakobsen is able to play anywhere across the back four and joins City on a two-year deal.
Following analysis by scouts, City Director of Football Michael Petrillo identified Jakobsen as a priority target after a recent summit in Manchester.

A former team mate of City gloveman Thomas Sorensen, Jakobsen boasts plenty of international experience, representing Denmark at every youth level as well as five times at senior level thus far.
He has also enjoyed time in the UEFA Champions League in 2008-09 with former club Aalborg BK, who in that campaign squared off against Villarreal, Celtic and Manchester United.
Jakobsen will join his new team mates on City’s preseason tour of Townsville next week, joining the likes of Neil Kilkenny, Luke Brattan, Josh Rose, Bruce Kamau and Tim Cahill as new signings.
