One of the more dominating presences on the football field, Bastian Schweinsteiger has gone under the radar since joining Manchester United.

Moving to Old Trafford in the summer of 2015 on a three-year deal, he has made 24 appearances for the Red Devils and has scored one goal.

The statistics make it clear to see the 31-year-old’s positive influence on Louis van Gaal’s often criticised setup. Man United win a staggering 20% more of their games with Schweinsteiger on the pitch, recording 1.9 points compared to 1.2 and conceding half the number of goals.

The ex-Munich icon also leads his current team in terms of successful passes made each game at 52, comfortably ahead of Juan Mata and Marouane Feallaini.

Reportedly a slight chance of featuring in tomorrow morning’s meeting with their bitter rivals, the consistency and composure Schweinsteiger provides has been sorely lacking in the Manchester United outfit as of late.
