Socceroos’ rising star Aaron Mooy turned in a terrific performance for Huddersfield Town against Liverpool in the side’s 2-0 loss this morning.

The 25-year-old midfielder showed some classy touches, his defence splitting passing range and proved he can match it physically in the English game.

Mooy received plenty of praise from the commentators and fans on social media.

However, the LFC TV commentators John Bradley and Jason McAteer were clearly confused about the nature of the A-League and his career to date.

Mooy moved from Western Sydney Wanderers to Melbourne City in May, 2014 and it was clear they were not quite aware of the A-League pecking order.

Some of those comments won’t go down well with Wanderers fans but I guess it’s another indication of why the A-League is still an obscure league to many.

In just his second pre-season friendly for the club, Mooy put together another promising performance after an impressive first outing in the Terriers’ 2-0 victory against Oldham Athletic.

There’s been a multitude of conjecture surrounding his move to Manchester City, and subsequent season-long loan to Huddersfield, however it appears like a move which could be the perfect stepping stone for his future.

It may be early days, but the club’s supporters are already warming to the 25-year-old, with some even claiming he’s a ‘class above’ any of his teammates – high praise indeed.
