Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was impressed by his side’s display in their win over Derby County, but insists that there is still room for improvement.

The Reds were comfortable in their third round EFL Cup clash, running out 3-0 victors over the Championship side after goals by Ragnar Klavan, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi.

Klopp told LFC TV that he was satisfied with how it all came together, saying: “We were better and deserved to win, we created chances.”

“Could we have done better? Yes, a lot. Is it important? No, because that’s what you want to have. You need to be 100 per cent professional, be really serious and take games like these like they are.

“They could be difficult but it wasn’t difficult because of us. The opponent was ready for each opportunity but we didn’t give them (any). So it was good.

“First half, we could have been a little bit better in the last pass. Second half, we could have been better in the counter-attack.

“I take them (results) like they are, 3-0, all good.”

Danny Ings was given a 30-minute cameo in the second half, as he continues his recovery from knee ligament damage.

On Ings, Klopp added: “It was a difficult time (for him), I know this but, like all the others, he’s on a really good way and everybody can see this, I’m pretty sure.”

Liverpool will be looking to continue their rich vein of form this weekend as they take on Hull City at Anfield.
