Adelaide United midfielder Isaias is confident the club can find a replacement to fill the huge void left by Stefan Mauk as well as several other key players.

Mauk, who played an integral role in the club’s successful 2015-16 season, recently departed the reigning A-League Champions for Dutch outfit Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie, sealing a dream move to Europe.

The Reds also farewelled the likes of Craig Goodwin, Bruce Kamau and Pablo Sanchez at the end of last season, leaving a number of holes in the squad.

However, Isaias believes the Reds coaching staff and hierarchy will do everything in its power to find suitable reinforcements.

“We know we are missing a very good player [in Stefan Mauk], a very important player for us,” Isaias said.

“But I’m sure that the club and the coaching staff are working hard also to fill this gap in the squad and I’m 100% sure that they will bring in another good player.”

The Spaniard also revealed he along with the senior members of the squad will act as mentors so the newly signed players can quickly adapt to the team’s philosophy.

“Yeah of course, we have to help the new players to understand our style,” he continued.

Isaias also squashed qualms United will not be as competitive as last campaign, but did concede the impending season will be the hardest since joining the Reds in 2013 due to being title holders.

“I think right now they are working hard to find more players, but I’m sure when the league will start we will have a very competitive squad,” he said.

“Yeah I think [the upcoming season] will be very hard for us because you can see Western Sydney [Wanderers] two years ago and Melbourne Victory last season, it’s hard when you have three competitions.”

Adelaide also have a number of injury concerns before it travels to face Queensland outfit Redlands United in the Westfield FFA CUP Round of 32 clash on 3 August.

Sergio Cirio sustained an ankle injury and will reportedly be out for eight weeks, while Michael Marrone continues his rehabilitation from a ruptured Achilles he suffered in the A-League Grand Final.
