How Twitter reacted to Newcastle’s thrilling 3-2 win over Wellington

Scott Miller’s Newcastle side battled to a 3-2 home win over the Wellington Phoenix earlier this evening.

In an end-to-end first-half, Hamish Watson would put the visitors ahead just after 20 minutes from Michael McGlinchey’s corner.

The Jets would equalise minutes later after an unfortunate close-range own goal from Andrew Durante, yet a second for Watson in the 37th would see the Phoenix go into halftime with a slim lead.

Twists and turns would be thrown up soon after the restart, with Morten Nordstrand again resorting parity with his second Newcastle Jets goal. A red card for Wellington’s double-goal scorer Watson after a second bookable offence gave the hosts space for Nordstrand to  pick up a second of his on moments later, keeping the Jets undefeated in February.
