Liverpool were profligate once more in front of goal, as Jurgen Klopp’s first match at Anfield ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw against 10-man Rubin Kazan.

Despite having close to 70% possession and 30 shots to five, Liverpool failed to make their dominance count.
After a subdued start to the game it was the visitors who shocked Anfield when Marko Devic chested down and half volleyed a sublime shot into the Kop net.
The Russian outfit were comfortable in the first half until captain Oleg Kuzmin was sent off for a second yellow offence on 36 minutes.
From the resulting free-kick Divock Origi was on hand to head the ball down across goal for Emre Can to tap in from point-blank range.
Back on level terms, and with a man advantage, it seemed like just a matter of time until Liverpool would gain the lead but it never eventuated, as Christian Benteke hit the post late and the Reds were made to settle for a point.

Another man-of-the-match performance from Mamadou Sakho. But Brendan Rodgers didn’t rate him, and nor do the English media. #LFC — Jack Lusby (@jacklusby_) October 22, 2015

One thing I like about Klopp is he brings his subs on with time to make an impact. With Rogers it was 6 minutes left, cue Lambert #LFC — Steve Hornbeck (@shorn71) October 22, 2015

We’ve been crap at crossing the ball in for about 20 years. Don’t know why the fans are so surprised. #lfc — Gurminder (@GurminderM) October 22, 2015
