Brisbane Roar are top of the A-League after a 1-0 win over Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium to finish off round six.

It took second half substitute Henrique, in his first match back after a knee reconstruction, to put the home side ahead. It was another subsitute, Javier Hervas – in his debut for the Roar – whose sensational flick on found Henrique.

The first half saw Brisbane completely dominate proceedings, with plenty of chances but no finishing ability, seeing the game enter the half time break scoreless.

The second half continue with the theme of plenty of chances but no finishing. While Perth were able to work their way into the match, with a few structural changes and tactical switches, the teams still struggled to find the back of the net.

A few offside calls, which upon review proved to be incorrect, could have changed the complexion of the game but it was ultimately the combination between the Roar’s two substitutes which secured Brisbane all three points.

The Roar sit top of the table and are undefeated at home, while Perth remain in ninth spot, with only one win for the season.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the match.
