Manchester City’s 3-1 win against West Ham may come at a significant cost, with star striker Sergio Aguero in the headlines for a stray elbow to the face of Winston Reid.
Pep Guardiola’s men produced a scintillating first half performance which set them on their way to victory, however Aguero’s moment of madness was the key talking point.
City face an absorbing derby against Manchester City after the international break and face a nervous wait to see if their Argentinean striker will be available.

The FA have confirmed to the media they are waiting to read the referee’s report before making a decision whether they will take disciplinary action.
It would be a crushing blow to lose Aguero ahead of a hugely significant Manchester derby.
Here are some of the best reactions from English pundits regarding the incident:

Seen the Aguero (elbow) incident again Nothing in it at all
When I first saw it I thought it was a red! Not even a booking for me.— Jason Victor Cundy (@jasoncundy05) August 28, 2016
WTF are these 3 on about on Sky!
Aguero was intent on elbowing W Reid.
Should be a red card!!!!!!— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) August 28, 2016
Aguero didn’t fully catch Reid. But what if he had a knife? Surely the FA have to take that into account?

If Costa had done what Aguero has today it would be on the front pages tomorrow. Retrospective action?

Regardless of whether Aguero *should* be banned for the derby, the question is will he be. I’m predicting not.
