Liverpool have recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory against Hull City to continue their strong start to the campaign.
Adam Lallana opened the scoring with an inch-perfect shot from inside the box, following some fine intricate play.
It didn’t take long for the home side to double their advantage when Philippe Coutinho’s goal-bound strike was intentionally handle on the line by Ahmed Elmohamady, who saw a straight red card for his indiscretion.
James Milner converted the penalty kick with ease on 30 minutes, and just six minutes later Sadio Mane added a third when he swivelled and struck a well placed shot into the bottom right-hand corner.
Hull City scored a consolation through David Meyler, as Coutinho put any hopes of a revival to bed a minute later after a stunning curling strike from 25 yards.
Daniel Sturridge was on for barely a minute before he won a penalty through some neat footwork, with Milner converting the spot kick to round off the Reds’ rout.
Here are the best reactions from Twitter following Liverpool’s comprehensive display:
Sadio Mane at £36M is a steal. Scores goals, tracks back retrieving possession constantly and creates attacks. Bargain. #lfc

This is a #LFC side capable of doing some serious damage this season. This is without Sturridge, Origi or Ings.

#LFC devastating today. And that’s also before they went to 10 men

Best thing about this is the hunger & desire being shown, something we’ve had issues with vs these teams for years. Relentless from #LFC

The feel good factor is well and truly back at Liverpool FC! Now to convert it to trophies is the challenge #lfc

I honestly reckon we could stick Milner in net and he’d still do a job. #LFC

Though its too early but I’m already very glad that Klopp rather went for Mane than waiting for Gotze. Been a delight to watch so far. #LFC

Goals, exciting football, another 3 pts – my doubter/believeometer swings to the positive a little more #lfc

We beat Arsenal, Chelsea & Leicester, we draw with Spurs but Danny Mills says we will be found out against ‘bigger teams’ 🙈😂 #LFC

The fact we got Matip on a free transfer is ridiculous, this guy is an absolute tank! #LFC

This can’t technically count as Karius’ debut. He may as well have brought a deckchair FFS.#LFC

92nd minute and and 5-1 up against 10 men and Bobby Firmino is still chasing down the defenders. Love it. #LFC #ynwa
