Arsenal claimed a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to PSG in their opening Champions League match in Group A.
The visitors were shellshocked after just 42 seconds when Serge Aurier’s fizzing cross was headed in by an on-rushing Edison Cavani.
It set the tone for a half in which the visitors struggled to find any rhythm and were lucky not to be two behind when Nacho Monreal’s poor touch played Cavani in behind the goalkeeper, only for the Uruguayan to screw his shot wide of the post with the goal gapping.
The second half was full of energy and verve from both sides in an end-to-end affair, with Arsenal scoring a deserved equaliser through Alexis Sanchez, who lashed the ball in with a dipping shot from just inside the box.
Both sides had genuine chances to win the game, as they both finished with 10 men after Olivier Grioud and Marco Verratti were sent off.
Here are some of the best reactions from the Arsenal fans on Twitter:
Remember when we were linked with Cavani?! Thank god that never happened. #AFC #Arsenal

PSG were very wasteful. We have them to thank for the draw. #Arsenal

Giroud has to stop throwing good toys out at every single opportunity. Just get on with it. First was booking was unnecessary. #Arsenal

Solid performance by David Ospina. He single handedly kept #Arsenal in this game. A good point by Arsenal. #PSGvAFC #UCL

Fair result for @Arsenal. 1 point away at probably the best opposition in our group isn't a bad result at all. #PSGARS #Arsenal #COYG
