Adelaide United boss Guillermo Amor praised his squad’s ability, after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Brisbane Roar at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.

Bruce Kamau’s inspired performance was the impetus for the Reds as his goal as well as strikes from Bruce Djite and Pablo Sanchez extended their undefeated streak to 13 matches.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Amor was impressed with the manner in which his troops acquitted themselves during proceedings, stating they played with “intelligence”.

“The game was good. It was a difficult game with Brisbane, they are a very good team,” Amor said.

“Today we played with intelligence and controlled the game, and took control of the situation this is important in football against the big teams.”

It was Adelaide’s first league win at home over the Roar since February 2010, with Amor insisting patience was key in breaking down John Aloisi’s men.

“We gained confidence after the [first] goal and it’s difficult to win the game in the first 20 minutes, the game is 90 minutes,” Amor continued.

“Against the good teams you need time and to win the control during the game.”

The Barcelona legend also reserved admiration for youngster Bruce Kamau following an exceptional outing.

“Kamau is a very good player he’s strong, he’s hungry, he wants, he worked every day he’s very good mentality and a good player,” he said.

“I think that he has got a really bright future ahead, he’s a great player.”

The Reds next travel across the Tasman to face Wellington Phoenix on Saturday night.
