Former Brisbane Roar flop Javier Hervas has left his Bosnian club Zeljeznicar for the most strangest of reasons.

Hervas had not even played a single minute for the club before he and his wife were reportedly attacked by stray dogs, and those reports suggest that Mrs Hervas wasn’t too happy about it, demanding an immediate re-location.

The club released the following statement confirming the termination of Hervas’ contract my mutual consent at the “express request of the player.”

“Hervas has not adapted to the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina and, at the insistence of his family, especially his wife, wants to return to his country,” the statement read.

“This development will not weaken the team as the coaching staff has plenty of alternatives in midfield and is already looking forward to the derby match against FK Sarajevo.

“We wish the player all the best in his future career and hope that he resolves any family problems he may have experienced.”

Hervas has since signed a two-year deal with Spanish Segunda side Mirandes.
