Goals from Besart Berisha, Kosta Barbarouses and Jason Geria have helped Melbourne Victory see off a dogged Hume City 3-0 at AAMI Park on Wednesday night.

Hume City

Chris Oldfield – 7.5: Made a number of terrific saves throughout the night to keep Hume in it. Could do little about the goals.

Jai Ingham – 7.5: Forced the Victory defence into action on numerous occasions with a number of good deliveries and was Hume’s most dangerous outlet.

Theo Markelis – 6.5: Had some positive moments but did not create any real opportunities.

Joseph Franjic – 4.5: His biggest contribution was a bookable tackle on Scott Galloway.

Ivan Pavlak – 7.5: Another excellent contributor to the Hume defence. Kept a close eye on Kosta Barbarouses all night but allowed him to tee up Geria, slipping as he tired.

Daniel Clark – 5: Fed off scraps for much of the night as Hume absorbed plenty of pressure. Replaced an hour in.

Shane Rexhepi – 8: Hardly allowed the Victory attackers any room. An excellent evening in defence and can be proud of his efforts.

Matthew Hennessey – 6.5: Had a chance to open the scoring in the 27th minute but could not direct his header on target. His hands were full all night with the direct Connor Pain but dealt with him reasonably well.

Marcus Shroen – 5: Struggled to influence proceedings, but can be pleased with his tournament as a whole.

Bradley Walker – 6: Gave away the penalty for a rather needless shirt pull on Berisha. Nevertheless, held his own alongside Rexhepi and was replaced late.

Nick Hegarty – 7: Went closest of any Hume player, hitting the site netting after half an hour. Aside from that, the captain worked his socks off.

Substitutes

Souheil Agazane – 6.5: The substitute had an impact and Hume’s best chance, spinning away from Gallifuoco and stinging the palms of Vukovic.

Kristian Trajceski – N/A: A late, late introduction.

Yusef Mohammad – N/A: Like Trajecski, was introduced in the dying embers of the match.
