The Brimbank Stallions Soccer Club in Melbourne’s west is shaping up as a potential location for an official Juventus Football Club academy.

Outside90 can exclusively reveal plans are in advanced stages to develop a fully fledged academy to begin in September this year, which will contribute to the complex becoming the ‘football hub’ of Melbourne’s west.

At the moment, the Stallions along with the support of Club Italia (Italo-Australian Sporting Club) and Juventus Club DOC Victoria, have partnerships with the ‘Old Lady’ which has seen them run school holiday clinics for the past three years, conducted by official Juventus coaches and technical directors.

They have now turned their attention to developing a serious academy and have already enlisted a Juventus technical director on-loan from Turin to get the program up and running.

“Club Italia and the Brimbank Stallions have been running the Juventus Schools for over 3 years now and have put plans in place to turn the club into an official Juventus Academy,” said Club Italia and Juventus Club DOC Victoria administrator Anthony Chapman.

Club Italia has been around for 40 years and the Stallions have been based out at the Furlong Road complex for 30 years.  At the moment the club boasts four soccer pitches, with plans underway to build a synthetic pitch by 2017. Supported by Club Italia which is the hospitality sector of the club, there are solid foundations already in place for an academy to flourish.

“Club Italia president Leo Vargiu and his family have a long history and association with the club and Leo has been instrumental in the Juventus Soccer Schools being held at Club Italia for the past 3 years,” said Anthony.

In their bid to launch what will be a massive aid to soccer in the west, the parties have outlined their mission and vision for the future:

The Juventus Soccer Schools mission is incredibly clear: create the best worldwide project for soccer schools in order to encourage as many young players as possible to aim high and to grow champions like.

The main idea is to form solid values such as: the uniqueness of the soccer experience , the safeguard and protection of the participants , a highly professional staff, and the recreation for the participants but also their growth as sportsmen.

– Child protection: Child protection and the psycho-physical health of the child come before anything else.

– Uniqueness: Creating a unique Juventus experience able to convey Juventus feelings, sentiments and emotions.

– Juventus Style: Communicating the Juventus style in a consistent manner both on and off the field by spreading and defending its values, tradition and history in each detail of every single activity.

– Training: Selecting and training the entire staff so that it respects and promotes the standards of Juventus Soccer Schools at both the behavioural level and in the sports teaching.

– Fun: Creating the right environment for the learning to take place: less exasperation, more fun.

Our aim at Club Italia is to promote the Brimbank Stallions as the club of choice for parents in the western suburbs of Melbourne. We are very focused on the community and by providing a high performance environment for children, we strongly encourage them to the best they can be.

One in three kids are choosing to take up the sport at grassroots level, and this move by the parties involved reflects a desire to take full advantage of the interest in the world game in Australia.

The key values underpinning the creation of the academy are a testament to just how far the game has grown in Australia, and the creation and development of these academies is the only way to ensure the masses of children taking up the sport get the knowledge and development they and we need to become a better footballing nation.
