EuROOvision: Luongo vital for QPR, Jackson Irvine scores again

Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo was key as Queens Park Rangers claimed a memorable win in the Championship last night. 

Following a week of controversy, QPR defeated their London rivals Fulham for the first time in over three decades. Luongo played the full 90 minutes and was involved his his side’s opening goal in the 2-1 victory.

Jackson Irvine found the net as Burton Albion claimed a 2-0 win over Cardiff, registering his fifth goal of the 2016-17 season after being set up by Jamie Ward.

Huddersfield remain at the top of the Championship table after a 1-0 win against Ipswich, with Aaron Mooy providing an assist from a corner which was met by Christopher Schindler for the winning goal.

Both Bailey Wright and Mile Jedinak completed full matches as their respective side’s faced-off last night. Wright’s Preston North End cruised past Aston Villa 2-0, who continue their miserable away record.

Robbie Kruse again watched on from the sidelines as Leverkusen toppled Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund 2-0.

In the English top-flight, Brad Smith and Adam Federici were also unused substitutes as Bournemouth held Watford to a 2-2 away draw.

Finally to Scotland, where Tom Rogic’s Celtic defeated Dundee 1-0. The 23-year-old was substituted off just after the hour mark.
