Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak played the full 90 minutes for Aston Villa in a blockbuster Championship clash against Newcastle United.

Newcastle took an early lead and looked on course for victory, only for Aaron Tshibola’s late strike on 88 minutes to secure a precious point for lowly Villa, who sit 17th with just nine points from their nine games.

Aaron Mooy completed the full 90 minutes for Huddersfield Town in a 1-0 loss away to fellow promotion challengers Reading.

Huddersfield were forced to play the game with 10 men from the 26th minute onwards when winger Rajiv van La Parra was sent off before the half-hour mark for two bookable offences.

Huddersfield slipped to second on the table, one point behind new leaders Norwich City and sit two points ahead of Brighton and Reading after almost a quarter of the season.

Jackson Irvine’s Burton Albion suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Norwich, with the Socceroos midfielder playing the full 90 minutes.

QPR had to settle for a point against Birmingham City at Loftus Road, with Massimo Luongo involved for the full game.

On Friday evening Bailey Wright played the full 90, helping Preston North End earn a vital 1-0 win against Wigan to steer themselves clear of the relegation zone.

Left-back Brad Smith was an unused substitute, as Bournemouth shocked Everton in a 1-0 win at home.

Tom Rogic scored his sixth goal for the season in a 6-1 rout against Kimarnock to help extend Celtic’s lead to five points in the Scottish Premier League.

In Europe, Matt Leckie played the full 90 minutes for Ingolstadt in their 2-0 loss away to Borussia Mönchengladbach, which plunges his side into more trouble with just one point from the opening five matches in the Bundesliga.

Robbie Kruse was an unused substitute in Bayern Leverkusen’s dramatic 3-2 win away to Mainz, with Chicharito’s hat-trick and 91st minute winner inspiring the top four hopefuls to victory.

Alex Gersbach played the full 90 minutes and tasted title success with Rosenborg overnight in Norway, after a hard-fought 3-1 win away to Molde was enough to clinch the Tippeligaen Championship.

Milos Degenek suffered an injury blow and will miss the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in 1860 Munich’s 2-2 draw against St. Pauli.

Tomi Juric was a 77th minute substitute, as FC Luzern slipped to fifth on the table in the Swiss Super League after a 3-1 loss at home to Lausanne Sport.
