Roy Hodgson’s side could top the group with a win, already having four points on the board after their last gasp win over Wales erased some of the embarrassment of a 1-1 draw with Russia. Repre could also seal a knockout berth with an upset, having lost to the Welsh but beating Russia when it counted.

Both have scored three goals so far, although England has a slightly better defensive record, while also creating 10 more chances and taking 13 more shots on goal than the Slovaks. The Three Lions also lead the stats in terms of completed passes, and shot accuracy, while Ján Kozák’s men have been better in the tackle and have made more interceptions.

With squads full of talent, based on these stats this morning’s encounter at the Geoffroy-Guichard is sure to test the emotions of every Euro 2016 observer.
