Heading into his final competition as national team coach, Vincente Del Bosque is looking to take Spain to their third consecutive European Championship victory.

Fully aware of his side’s tag as tournament favourites, Del Bosque is a man under pressure but having secured the title with La Furia Roja four years ago, knows the way to glory.

Tactical Setup

Del Bosque, like Euro 2008-winning coach Luis Aragones before him, sets his side up in a 4-3-3 formation. A melding of the Barcelona tiki-taka style with a more forward-moving Real Madrid style means his side has the ability to play in different ways depending on the opposition.

Whoever they are faced with, Spain will keep the ball. No international team holds possession in a higher regard than the Spanish and that will be no different in France. Outstanding creative talent in the midfield, with the likes of Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas and David Silva, will look to supply the forwards.

What could be seen as the biggest weakness in Del Bosque’s side is his forwards. Alvaro Morata, Aritz Aduriz and Nolito are all players of sublime talent but have yet to hit the heights for the national team.

In spite of this, Del Bosque’s 4-3-3 can also be adapted to include a false nine, as was seen in the 2012 edition, meaning this side may have the least amount of weaknesses of any of the 24 on show.

Previous Employment

Del Bosque has been in charge of the national side since 2008, and in that time has won a World Cup and a European Championship.

Prior to his success on the international stage, VDB spent most of his managerial career in charge of Real Madrid, securing two La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues.

Conclusion

One of the best managers in world football will take charge of his side for the final time in France and will not be satisfied with anything else but victory.

Del Bosque has one of the tournament’s most talented sides at his disposal and under his guidance they will be looking at the title.
