Bournemouth recorded what was quite possibly the biggest win of their 125 year history, beating reigning Premier League champions Chelsea 1-0 late last night.

The traveling brigade of Bournemouth supporters rocked the foundations of Stamford Bridge, erupting in ecstasy after seeing Glenn Murray head home the winner in the 82nd minute, despite the goal being held in contention by Chelsea fans for a retrospective offside.

In spite of the result, Chelsea dominated the flow of play for the first 80 minutes, commanding a 63% share of the ball and managing to get away 19 attempts on goal over the course of the game.

The result means that Bournemouth emerge from the relegation zone, settling in 17th place, a single point above the bottom three. In contrast to the sensation of triumph in the Bournemouth camp, the Blues will be left ‘wondering why’ as their nightmare season continues – Mourinho’s men slumping to their eighth league loss in 15 games.
