Outside90’s Benn Mackie casts an eye over the five worst individual performances coming from the English Premier League last weekend.

Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea vs Everton)
It was far from Cesc Fabregas’ best afternoon at Goodison Park, once more failing to provide any spark for a struggling Chelsea. The midfielder was pushed further forward by Jose Mourinho, but lacked industry and struggled throughout the game. The Spaniard is still among the top percentile in the league, but on current form he will not be receiving any accolades this season.

Martin Skrtel (Liverpool vs Manchester UNited)
Martin Skrtel has been a massive liabilty so far this season. His performance against an underperforming Manchester United confirmed that the Slovak cannot defend in one-on-one situations. The Red Devilds started the match without a recognised striker, but Skrtel and the equally inept Dejan Lovren sat too deep, inviting pressure. He would have been looking for a place to hide after getting turned inside out by Anthony Martial and gifted the United Striker too much space to concede Liverpool’s third goal.

Harry Kane (Tottenham vs Sunderland)
It is starting to become a trend to see Harry Kane goalless after a Premier League match. After a bbreakout 2014-15, the youngster was tipped to be leading the scoring charts, but so far has failed to fire. The frustration can be seen with every missed shot, as the young Englishman may have fallen into the trap of believing in his own hype. Pressure is mounting and Tottenham need Kane to find some goalscoring form.

Memphis Depay (Manchester United vs Liverpool)
Despite Manchester United defeating Liverpool 3-1, Memphis Depay was merely a passenger on the field. When the Dutchaman was signed he was described as having pace, skill and a ferocious shot. Sadly for United fans he has failed to display any of these traits so far this season. With the match deadlocked, Depay was replaced by Ashley Young at half-time and the match instantly swung in the Red Devils’ favour. Improvement is needed to keep his place in the starting lineup.

Joselu (Stoke City vs Arsenal)
Joselu was part of a Stoke City side that were tormented by the movement of a confident Arsenal. The Spaniard was invisible throughout and had no answers to the attacking threat that the Gunners possessed. On 57 minutes Joselu’s contribution to a lacklustre display came to an end and the Potters will need him to gain confidence quickly.
